How Much Does a Matchmaker Cost in 2026?

The quick answer

There is no trustworthy industry-wide price for matchmaking because providers sell different kinds of work. Some charge by the month, some sell a stated number of introductions, and others price a retained search around its scope and geography.

Use current public prices as provider examples, not as an average, a quality rating, or evidence that a higher price will produce a relationship. Match Guarantee’s current price page lists packages from $2,900 to $50,000. VIDA Select says its month-to-month memberships start at $1,695, while Selective Search says its retained searches average $50,000 to $500,000. Compare total commitment, not just the headline fee

The same number can buy very different services. A fixed introduction package may be clear about its term but leave travel outside the fee. A monthly service can have a lower starting commitment but cost more over time. A retainer can include active recruiting but need careful scope definitions.

A hypothetical two-proposal comparison

This example is hypothetical. It does not describe any actual provider or customer.

Proposal A costs $6,000 for six months and says “unlimited matching.” Proposal B costs $7,500 for six active months and defines a mutually accepted video introduction, one pause of up to 30 days, two coaching sessions, and which travel costs are excluded. Proposal A might still be suitable, but its fee cannot be compared fairly until “unlimited,” the active period, candidate sourcing, and extra costs are defined in writing.

Do not turn either proposal into a fee-per-introduction score. An introduction is not a standardized unit, and a low price does not resolve unclear sourcing, consent, or renewal terms.

Questions that change the real cost

• Does the service clock start when you sign, pay, complete intake, or receive a first candidate?
• Does a suggested profile, declined candidate, video call, or exchanged contact information count as an introduction?
• Who approves an introduction before contact information is shared?
• What happens during a pause, a slow search period, or a change in geography or criteria?
• Which screening steps are included, and which remain your responsibility?
• Are translation, travel, local support, taxes, and currency conversion included or separately billed?
• What is the renewal process, and what can be cancelled or refunded under the written terms?
